Luca

Luca Brasi Cancellieri,17, passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 29, 2025, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his mum, Marcia, his dad, Giulio and was predeceased by his brother Winston with whom he has been reunited.

Born in Mississippi on February 26, 2007, he joined his forever family 3 months later. He traveled to many beaches over the years from Virginia to Maine and joined his parents on frequent trips to NYC where he enjoyed strutting his stuff like a big city dog.

Ever the independent pup, Luca was also very intelligent. He knew all his basic commands and enjoyed wowing family and friends with the more difficult ones, learning each of them with little repetition and lots of love and treats.

Throughout his life, his favorite activities changed with his age. They include trips to the dog park, long neighborhood walks, eating at outdoor restaurants, running to catch bubbles, retrieving wiffle golf balls in the back yard, exploring local trails, playing fetch and doggie-in-the-middle with his favorite stuffed toys, being included at all the family gatherings, and so many others.

Luca was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. No words will ever do justice to how wonderful it was to have known him. It was our greatest privilege.
